Should I wear a bikini next summer? Why don’t more chubby girls wear them?

I am not fat, I am ‘chubby’. I am 5’7 and a half, 14 and i weigh 155 pounds, which is like 10-15 pounds above the ‘healthy weight’. I used to weigh a lot more… I was a size 16 jean in juniors… now i am a size 10 jean in juniors. I am still a little self conscious, but I am way better, I wore a sweatshirt almost every day for 3 years and now I go out in tank tops and stuff. I don’t have a muffin top or anything, the fat is mostly spread out evenly, it is kind of hard to describe, but it doesn’t look bad.
And because some people think it is important… I am a 34B

So a couple questions:
What is your opinion of chubby girls who wear bikinis?
Should I wear a bikini?
Why don’t more chubby people wear them?

You don’t sound chubby, dear. I’m 5’7″ and 135 pounds. I USED to weigh about 150, but no one ever considered me big.

My opinion on “chubby” girls wearing bikinis: Girls these days who are perceived as “chubby” usually aren’t. It’s just the media gets to our heads, and especially with young girls watching TV with commercials of tall, thin women modeling on TV shows and/or commercials, it’s hard to not let it get to you. I’m a victim of it, but now, I’m feeling better about myself. Most of these models you see on TV, magazines, and billboards are airbrushed, Photoshopped clones that aren’t real, and people believe that that’s how they truly look, but they don’t. Anyway, I have a lot of respect for those girls who wear bikinis. I think they’re a lot more confident, real, and prettier in every single way than a girl who is 15 pounds underweight who purposely struts her stuff for the world to see.

Should you wear a bikini?: Yes, curves are beautiful. I bet if I were to go around asking men if they’d prefer a stick-like women over a girl with curves, 99% of them would say no. I know a lot of guys who like curves, because that’s how a woman should look. Who cares what people think. You’re beautiful no matter what.

Why don’t chubby people wear them?: Because they feel ashamed of their bodies because of the media. It’s a shame to see such sweet, innocent girls feel that way because their minds are overloaded with pictures of models who are like 5’10″ and 110 pounds. Since that’s the idea of “beautiful” and “normal” these days, they feel out of place and ugly, and they don’t want people to see that, even though they’re beautiful.

Yeah go for it! Like if you go out in tank tops and stuff, then thats not much different! Like just think of a bikini as a clear tank top lol. Like i used to be really self conscious when i was chubby, [i would wear tankinis] but then when i wore my first bikini in public i realized that its really no big deal. I think its fine when chubby girls wear bikinis because its their curve! They should be allowed to show it off! I think most chubby girls feel uncomfortable in bikinis because now days society is pressuring us to be abnormally thin, but honestly, guys dont even find that attractive.

Vans; some are on sale at hot topic for 20 bucks.
Converse; These are very nice nowadays but you can get them from payless for around 20 to 30 dollars.
Gladiator Sandals: From Wet Seal around 30 bucks
Osiris: Most exspensive but awesome shoes : around 70-80 dollars at Journeys
Adidas Slides: around 25.00′s at Adidas Stores or Lady foot locker
Ballet Flats: Dude everywhere for around 20.00′s, thrift stores at 4.00
Uggs : Get rip offs for 10 bucks at Claires

Before booting up your computer plug the camera in and power it up. ON booting windows (or Linux) should detect the camera (as new hardware) and install the necessary drivers.
